Jim Sheppard, President (University of Pittsburgh)

Jim Sheppard is a senior at the University of Pittsburgh studying Political Science and Public Policy. Jim served as President of the University of Pittsburgh College Democrats for 2006-2007, proudly overseeing campus efforts to re-elect Governor Rendell and defeat Rick Santorum. Jim also served on the Univeristy of Pittsburgh Diversity Committee.
In 2007, Jim was appointed the Communications Director of the PA College Dems and over saw the redesign of the PA College Dems website. Jim then served as Western Vice President in 2008. Jim was unanimously elected President at the 2009 PACD State Convention.
Jim currently serves as the Deputy Cheif of Staff for Pittsburgh City Councilman Jim Motznik and as webmaster for the PAC, Motznik for District Judge.

Edi Rumano is a senior at Shippensburg University double majoring in Physics and Economics. Edi served as Programming Director and was co-chair of the host committee during PACD’s 2010 Convention in Shippensburg. Currently Edi serves as the Central Vice-President for PACD. He also serves as President of Shippensburg College Democrats and President of Sigma Pi Sigma Physics Honor Society.
Edi plans to attend law school to study intellectual property and patent issues after graduating college.
Abby Shepherd, Eastern Vice President (Temple University)

Abby Shepherd is currently a senior at Temple University studying political science and American studies. She is currently the president of Temple College Democrats-an active chapter of PACD that consistently works around the clock to advance the agenda of the Democratic party. Their hard work was recently recognized at the 2009 State Convention with Temple being named Chapter of the Year.
Shepherd is also an intern in the Philadelphia District Attorney’s Office, working in the Municipal Court Unit in a Domestic Violence Courtroom. She is also involved in community politics, serving as a Philadelphia Block Captain and volunteering for local campaigns.
Michael Stratton, Financial Director (University of Pennsylvania)

Mike Stratton is a senior at the University of Pennsylvania studying Real Estate and Finance in the Wharton School of Business and is originally from Williamsport, PA.
In 2008, Mike was Co-president of Upenn for Obama and Treasurer of the Penn Democrats and led the oversight of the University of Pennsylvania campus for the Obama campaign. While co-president, Upenn for Obama registered 6,700 voters and extended its membership base to over 1,400 students. He also coordinated and executed an Election Day operation with over 200 volunteers contributing over 900 man hours on the days of both the primary and general elections while exceeding 2004 voter turnout by 20%.
In the summer of 2008, Mike was the Campaign Manager for the PA State Representative race of Rick Mirabito in the PA-83rd State Representative District. In this capacity, he managed the entire campaign effort including all financial, political, media, press, and volunteer activities. His State Representative candidate won the seat by a margin of 20% in a district favoring the republicans by 15%. It is also the first time in 36 year that a democrat has held the seat.
Mike has also served as youth director for numerous local county commissioner and representative races throughout high school. Mike has previously been the Vice President of the Penn Democrats and Co-Chair of Philadelphia Students for Seth Williams.
At the University of Pennsylvania, Mike is Co-President of the Real Estate Club and a Eucharistic minister at St. Agatha’s-St. James Catholic Church. In his free time, he enjoys playing soccer, skiing, eating and watching reruns of the West Wing.
Zach Gordon, Political Affairs Director (Juniata College)

Zach is Senior at Juniata College studying politics. He is a member of the National Political Science Honor Society, Pi Sigma Alpha. He is also a member of the national leadership honor society Omicron Delta Kappa.
Zach Gordon got involved in College Democrats in 2008 when he helped revive his campus’ chapter. He started as treasurer and now he serves as the president. Zach is a regional director in Pennsylvania Young Democrats and a committeeman for Huntingdon County. In 2009 Zach ran for Prothonotary of Huntingdon County.
Zach has worked with his chapter to be involved in the community beyond just politics. Under his leadership they have adopt a 2-mile portion of highway near campus. Furthermore, the Juniata College Democrats volunteered on Martin Luther King Jr. Day at the Shirley Home for the Aged.
Weston S. Fillman, Membership Director (Franklin & Marshal College)

Weston is serving his third term on the PACD Executive Board, having served as Communications Director for the past two years. Weston Fillman is a senior at Franklin & Marshall College in Lancaster, PA majoring in Government and History. At F&M Weston has served as the President and Secretary of the F&M College Democrats and Vice President of Student Senate. Weston also helps to run F&M Votes and is a member of Pi Sigma Alpha, the National Political Honor Society; Pi Alpha Theta, the National History Honor Society; and the John-Marshall Pre-Law Honor Society. In addition, Weston has also served as the Communications Director and Development Director for College Democrats of America’s National LGBT Caucus.
In Lancaster and across the northeast, Weston campaigned for Senator Barack Obama serving as a volunteer in New Hampshire prior to the January 2008 Primary and as a spring intern with Obama for America. He has also worked for local and federal level representative elections for Democratic Challengers in the Berks and Lancaster County areas. In the summer of 2008, Weston interned for United States Senator John Kerry (D-MA) in his Boston Office. Weston is also interested in politics on a global level, having studied the European Union and Danish Politics during the fall of 2009 in Copenhagen, Denmark.
During summer 2010 Weston is interning with the Pennsylvania Department of Education. After graduation in 2011, Weston plans to obtain a Master’s Degree in Education Policy or Higher Education and eventually obtain a law degree to work in education reform or policy.

Tyler Hercules, State Council Chair (Temple University)

Tyler Hercules is a student at Temple University majoring in Political Science with a minor in Psychology and certificate in Political Economy.
He worked the last two summers at a YMCA. He was a counselor at the Bedford-Stuyvesant and McBurney locations in New York City, New York. At these two sites he led and assisted in daily activities, took attendance, and supervised campers on field trips. He was also a Garden Apprentice at the Brooklyn Botanic Garden teaching young children how to garden by seed planting, transplanting and weeding, and how to eat healthy. He was also an intern for Joe Hoeffel Montgomery County Commissioner’s 2010 campaign for governor.
